I worked on an animated sequence inserted into Part 5 of the SBS drama THE LAST EMPRESS.
The scene was designed in a cartoon drawing style to visually express the protagonist’s burning
sense of revenge, allowing the emotional intensity to be conveyed more powerfully than
through live-action alone. By stepping outside of realism, the sequence delivers the character’s
inner turmoil to the audience in a direct and visceral way.

Although the visuals are intentionally exaggerated, the movement itself remains controlled
and restrained, striking a balance that effectively communicates the protagonist’s current
emotional state while staying aligned with the overall narrative tone of the drama.
