I worked on the opening title sequence for the SBS drama THE LAST EMPRESS.
The series is set in a fictional world where South Korea is portrayed as a constitutional monarchy, exploring a modern imperial setting. To encapsulate the drama’s core themes—power, desire, revenge, and betrayal—within a concise title sequence, the visual direction was designed to be bold and symbolic.
Gold, as a universal symbol of authority and power, was established as the key visual motif. Through dynamic camera movements and striking visual staging, the sequence was crafted to heighten tension and intrigue, drawing viewers into the drama’s world and building anticipation from the very first moment.
